Grand Image, Inc. was started in the early half of 1997 by Eli and Leah Luria in Framingham, MA. First came the Outboard, our first large format inkjet printer. Along with a Scitex Smart 340L scanner and a few computers in the pre-press area. We started out by printing flex billboards, aerial banners and other large size banners. Finishing has always been offered at Grand Image. With our High Frequency 10KW bar sealer, hot wedge welder, industrial sewing and grommet press, we are able to meet your finishing needs.
As the business started to grow and the printing demand exceeded the Outboard's capability we added a second printer, the Idanit. With this addition Grand Image was able to offer higher quality printing on smaller sized jobs. Grand Image was also able to offer our clients printing on paper for 30 sheets, 8 sheets, and other applications where high resolution printing is needed. When the demand came for an even larger high resolution printer the Vutek 5300 was purchased. This gave Grand Image even more options to offer our clients because the Vutek is able to take up to a 16 foot wide roll of material and is able to print on any combination of substrates. In 2004 we brought in the Mimaki JV3 250SP. It is a 6 color press capable of printing Dyesub at 720dpi that can take up to an 8 foot wide roll of material. Applications for this machine are growing daily. We added another Vutek in 2005. The Vutek 3360 is able to print 4 or 8 colors at 360dpi and has the capabilities to print on the same wide variety of materials as the Vutek 5300 up to 10 feet wide. In addition the 3360 can also print Dyesub seamless up to 10'. 2006 brought the addition of the 16' HP Scitex XLJet 1500. It is a 300dpi 4 or 8 color printer. It can print both Dyesub and Solvent based products. It can print Dyesub seamless up to 10'. To handle the transferring from the transfer paper to the fabric of wide format Dyesub we also brought in a Klieverik heat press . The Klieverik is able to do dyesub transfers for a 10' wide roll of material. The newest printer in our line-up is the HP Design Jet 9000s. It is an 8 color, 720dpi solvent ink printer. It can accept up to a 5' roll of material. We also offer laminating, encapsulating, and mounting for thermal films and self adhesive, on our AGL Laminator. It can handle widths up to 62". We are always looking for new ways to serve our clients better. Grand Image is ready for all of your large format printing demands. Grand Image is now located in Hudson, MA and has a great group of people working hard to meet all your large format printing needs. |
